Pendant #1,409 – Comfort & Resilience

Dec 20, 2024 | Cancer Warrior, Faith, Other Stories, Overcoming

I received my pendant during my treatment for breast cancer. In October 2024, at just 26 years old, I was diagnosed with Stage 1 invasive ductal carcinoma. I was incredibly fortunate to have discovered a lump, especially since I wasn’t doing regular self-exams or mammograms at the time. For most of September, I was confident it was a cyst or something benign. When I learned it was cancer, I was both shocked and devastated. I felt healthy—I ran every day, had no other health issues, and didn’t feel like anything was wrong.

Before my bilateral mastectomy, my aunt and uncle gifted me this pendant as a symbol of strength. It has become a source of comfort and resilience throughout my journey, and it continues to remind me of the love and support that carries me through.
