I lost my baby brother (34) and my mom 34 days apart in Oct./Nov. 2024. My mom battled stage 4 metastatic lung cancer that had spread to her liver, endometrium and uterus. She battled for a little over a year before it just became too much. She was my 5pm phone call everyday. She was there through everything, good and bad and supported me regardless.
My brother was my first and forever best friend. We were 6 years apart in age and I loved him the same as loving my own boys. He ended up in congestive heart failure from covid. At 30 he was told he would need a new heart in 5-10 years…he made it a little over 4. He loved my boys more than anything. He always said he didn’t need kids because he had my boys and they thought he was the absolute best! We had been through hell and back together. The last call we had was the night prior to his passing. We talked for an hour and the last thing I said to him was “I love you bub” that night, he went to sleep and never woke up. It has been a year that we have battled without them but not a day goes by we don’t talk about or remember them.
