Pendant #521 – The Only Way Out is Through

Feb 12, 2026 | Faith, Other Stories, Overcoming, Support

The only way out is through.

One of the many things I told myself when I went back to college.

It’s my first Mardi gras season and I found a new favorite holiday. However, I’m very depressed, lonely, and overwhelmed all of the time. I do everything alone, including most of the Mardi Gras festivities. I live alone. There’s not much to do in baton rouge so I’m usually just sitting in the house. I go to New Orleans as often as I can. People have expressed that they worry about me doing this alone, especially hopping around bourbon street, but what choice do I have? I have to live my life. I wish New Orleans wasn’t an hour away from campus. Otherwise I’d live there and I’m 90% sure I’d be happy and would be able to meet new people. I always do when I’m there.
