Pendant #880 – Light at the End of the Tunnel

Jan 10, 2023 | Cancer Warrior, Faith, Illness, Other Stories, Sisterhood, Support

My SIL, Sara Moore, gave me my pendant. She was so kind throughout my treatment, checking in on me often. For me, this pendant represents the overwhelming amount of support that I received. Sara and many others reached out, on numerous occasions, wanting to help. I was diagnosed with stage II breast cancer in late 2021. Proceeding my diagnosis I had a double mastectomy, 4 months of chemotherapy, 2 months of radiation, and reconstructive surgery. This is the hardest thing I ever done, but I really do believe it made me stronger. It also made me so much more appreciative of the friends and family in my life. I really don’t think I could’ve gotten through it without them. One of my best friends from California, Angie, texted me every single day. Even if just to say “good morning”. My heart swells when I think of the love I received. I’m passing this pendant on to Kelly Miller. She was recently diagnosed with stage II breast cancer and has a similar treatment plan, as me, ahead of her. I give her this pendant with the hope that she finds all the support she needs. I hope it serves as a reminder that she will get through this and there is light at the end of the tunnel.
