10 years ago, I told that it would be impossible to get pregnant on my own — I was diagnosed with infertility and told that fertility treatments were our only option if we hoped to one day become pregnant. After two failed intrauterine inseminations (IUI, formerly called artificial insemination), we were told that IVF was the only option. This road from infertility to motherhood was one of the most difficult paths I have been down. From a physical standpoint to emotional, spiritual & financial as well. I thank God every day that our story ends well. Through a total of 3 IVF cycles, we were blessed with 8 viable embryos. Our first cycle failed — We had transferred two “perfect embryos,” and yet, when the day came to find out if I was pregnant, I was told it hadn’t worked. That day was crushing. I questioned if I would ever become a Mom. But, my hope and faith kept me afloat… helped me to keep moving forward and to try again. Our 3rd of 3 embryos from that round was frozen… We did a frozen embryo transfer, and, that beautiful embryo is now our oldest daughter — a beautiful 8 year old girl. Since then, we were so fortunate to get pregnant 3 more times (4 total pregnancies) and have 5 incredible children (3 + twins). There is not a day that goes by I don’t remind myself how lucky we have been to have gone through this journey & had healthy kids. I hope my story allows others to keep a strong hold on hope… For all of you struggling with infertility, know this. I see you. I’m here for you. I hope YOU continue to have the strength you need to keep moving forward.
